I was recently interviewed by IdeasTap for their ‘Job of the Week’ website segment. I have worked with Ideas Tap on many of my projects this year; Fierce Press GangFuture Poets’ Festival and most recently on Town Hall Symphony Hall’s Sound Lounge 21 and mac’s Cannon Hill Collective.

IdeasTap is a fantastic creative network for young creative talent. IdeasTap supports creative people through opportunities, funding, arts jobs and career advice. With a thriving community with more than 70000 members aged 16-30, members are encouraged to build online portfolios, to network and can apply for small pots of money to get projects and ideas off the ground.

Since we first launched IdeasTap from a small riverside office in Bermondsey, south London, a lot has changed. From those exciting early days we’ve since awarded more than £650,000 in funding directly to our members. We’ve provided either an opportunity, funding or professional mentoring to a staggering 37,000 young people. And we’ve packed our members off on creative assignments around the UK and the world – including trips to New York, Shanghai, Dubai, Tokyo and Dhaka.

Meanwhile we’ve been growing. In August 2012 our 70,000th member signed up. We’ve moved to bigger offices, with IdeasTap, the National Youth Theatre and National Student Drama Festival now all under one roof. We’re lucky enough to be partnered with more fantastic arts organisations than ever – and we’re always looking to build new relationships that will bring our members fresh opportunities.

One of the most recent organisational partnerships has been with mac, Birmingham. The mac page offers IdeasTap members in Birmingham and the surrounding areas more midlands based opportunities.
